The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Unwalla, are the third generation of the Unwalla family in Panchgani. Mr. Zoher Unwallas grandfather had come to Panchgani in the early 1950s for health reasons. He liked this beautiful town so much, that he decided to settle down here. He started a small business selling threads, needles, wool etc. hence the surname, UNWALLA. After him, his son, Mr. Abdulla Unwalla took over the business and slowly started selling other products also.
